Last month, CScout Japan was featured on CNN’s Business Traveler, a show that highlights the globe trotting exploits of one Richard Quest, CNN’s resident business guru.
We spent the afternoon in Akihabara, checking out new gadgets and technology, and generally giving an impression of what’s out and what’s to come in the world of Japanese mobile technology. That, and the RumbleSonic (you’ll see).

During the Tokyo Motorshow CScout Japan had the privilege of hosting a Tokyo Trend Tour for a delegation of journalists from some of the largest publications in Germany. After meeting with designer Tokujin Yoshioka, we roamed the streets of Tokyo explaining trends, mindsets, and the ever-evolving Tokyo landscape.
Below is some press coverage from the tour (German only) from RP-Online and the Frankfurter Allgemeine.

Recently, CScout Japan’s Michael Keferl was interviewed by Nora Young of the CBC radio show Spark, a weekly look at trends and technology that broadcasts from Toronto.
Despite the standard Skype drop-off (or ten), they had a great talk about QR Codes here in Japan and what users can do with them. You can check out the show via podcast, or listen live on CBC Radio One this Wednesday at 11:30 or Saturday at 4:00 EST.

A while back, the most famous newspaper in Italy, Corriere della Sera (Evening Courier), ran a piece highlighting the Sega Grand Pianist with information provided by CScout Japan.
Many thanks to the paper, as well as to Massimo Triulzi, the author of the piece.

Last week, we posted a photo and video of a wave pool here in Tokyo that got a bit of attention. Besides effectively multiplying our web traffic by a gazillion and requiring a new server purchase, we managed to have the top video on the Internet for several days, and stayed in the top five for over a week!
As of this posting, there are over 600k views on Yahoo Video (after being featured on the homepage) and about 1.2 MILLION on YouTube. Add this to the great coverage we’ve gotten from G4′s Attack of the Show, former Rocketboomer Amanda Congdon’s ABC videoblog, and uncountable references all over the Intertubes from BoingBoing to Neatorama, and we’ve got ourselves a virus.
This Tuesday at 9:00 pm EST, Tokyo Wave Pool will be featured on ABC’s new show i-CAUGHT, a primetime roundup of the best videos on the net. Being in Japan, we’ve never actually seen the show, so feel free to comment away as to whether it does the video justice or not.
Either way, thanks for watching, and take this as your warning to stay the heck out of Tokyo pools during the O-bon holiday week.
**UPDATE**
It seems CNN got in on the action as well, though we would have appreciated a heads-up:
