NEC & Takara Tomy: Battlestations! Cubicle Wars have a new command center
Written by: Michael Keferl on November 10, 2006 at 7:32 pm | In Technology & Gadget Trends |NEC and toy maker Takara Tomy are working together to create the ultimate secret base and headquarters for nerdy spies, superheroes, and anime otaku.
The TYPE-NO1 is Tomy’s customizable “command station” complete with an “Emergency button” for shutdown (Maybe useful if you have a Sony battery?). Our favorite part is the bright LED “Glitter Panel” that displays customizable information about the computer (memory, CPU use), scrolling news, email alerts, etc. The computers are also physically customizable with stickers, and internally customizable by using the CD Rom.

The TYPE-NO1 is shipped as a set with one of four different models of NEC LaVie G Type L laptops. These will be limited to 300 pieces, and reservations are already being taken. Get one, or face certain destruction.
